What does 'allocated' mean?

Allocated bottles are nationally distributed bourbon brands that Ohio receives in limited quantities. Unlike store exclusives, these products arrive on regular OHLQ delivery days but in very small amounts — often just one or two cases per store. They sell out within hours, which is why timing and sighting data matter so much.

How is rarity determined?

Rarity is based on the number of community sighting reports over a rolling 90-day window. Bottles with 0–2 sightings are classified as Unicorn, 3–10 sightings as Rare, and 11 or more as Common Allocated. The fewer times a bottle is spotted across Ohio, the harder it is to find.

How do I add a bottle to my personal hunt list?

On any product card, tap the 'Want' tag button. This adds the bottle to your personal hunt list, which you can view from your collection page. You'll also contribute to the Community Most Wanted rankings — the more hunters who tag a bottle, the higher it climbs.

Where do sighting reports come from?

Sighting reports are submitted by Bottle Hunt Ohio community members who spot allocated bottles on store shelves. Reports include the store location and timestamp. You can browse the latest reports on the Sightings feed or submit your own when you find something.
